Stay safe first
Keep away from fallen debris and don't go into the loft if the structure may be compromised. If slates are loose overhead, keep people clear of the area below.
Limit the damage
If water is coming in, catch it in containers and move furniture and valuables. Then call a roofer for an emergency make-safe — most storm damage can be temporarily weatherproofed quickly.
Document everything
